{"id":30146,"date":"2026-09-01T17:08:29","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T17:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ujalalive.com\/?p=30146"},"modified":"2026-09-01T17:08:29","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T17:08:29","slug":"central-railway-takes-strict-action-against-passenger-for-lighting-diya-lamp-inside-train","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ujalalive.com\/?p=30146","title":{"rendered":"*Central Railway takes strict action against passenger for lighting diya (lamp) inside train"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>*Central Railway takes strict action against passenger for lighting diya (lamp) inside train<\/strong><\/em>*<br \/>\n*Carrying \/ Lighting inflammable articles in trains is an offence- Offenders punishable with fine and imprisonment upto 5 years.*<\/p>\n<p>Mumbai shrekesh Choubey:-<br \/>\nCentral Railway has taken strict action against a passenger for lighting a diya(lamp) inside a running train, endangering the safety of passengers.<\/p>\n<p>On 31.08.2026, a message was received from Commercial Control, Bhusaval regarding a passenger lighting a diya and performing worship on Berth No. 17 of Coach A-1 of Train No. 12782 (Hazrat Nizamuddin &#8211; Mysuru Express).<\/p>\n<p>The matter was reported by on-duty Ticket checking staff, Shri Raman Kumar Sharma, Khandwa. The passenger was deboarded at Bhusaval Railway Station for further necessary action. On inquiry, the passenger, identified as Gariba, aged 55 years, resident of, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh said that he had lit the Diya on his reserved berth while performing evening prayers. The on-duty TTE had advised him to extinguish the Diya, explaining that an open flame could cause a fire and endanger the safety of passengers and railway property. However, the passenger insisted on extinguishing it only after completing his prayers. The incident was also video-recorded by the TTE on his mobile phone.<br \/>\nA match box, a brass diya (lamp) and a steel container were also recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Action was taken against the accused under Sections 153 and 145(B) of the Railways Act, 1989 on 01.09.2026 as the act posed a potential danger to the safety of passengers and railway property.
