*General Manager presents Safety Award to 9 employees of Central Railway<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\nShri Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager, Central Railway felicitated 9 Central Railway employees with Safety Award on 12.10.2026 in recognition of their alertness, devotion to duty and timely action in ensuring safe train operations.
\nThe Safety Awards were presented in appreciation of the presence of mind and dedication displayed by the employees while on duty, which helped avert potential untoward incidents and ensured safety of passengers and railway operations. Each award consists of a medal, commendation certificate, citation of exemplary safety work and a cash prize.<\/p>\n

Details of the Awardees
\n*Mumbai Division \u2013 4 awardees*
\n(1) Shri Raju Kisan Rathod, Senior Train Manager, Kalyan, Mumbai Division, while on duty in Thane-Ambarnath local, on 29.08.2026, noticed a passenger falling from the Mahalakshmi Express passing on the adjacent line at kilometre 58\/10. He stopped his train, provided first aid to the injured passenger and handed him over at Ambernath station. His prompt response helped save the passenger from harm.
\n(2) Shri Sachin G. Talekar, Senior Train Manager, Panvel, Mumbai Division, while on duty on 09.09.2026, detected a broken side bearer cup on wagon No. NCR 11627. He immediately informed all concerned. His immediate reporting of the defect helped avert a potential mishap.
\n(3) Shri Janu Jalamsingh Valvi, TTE, Diva, Mumbai Division, on 20.09.2026, noticed the cross-bracing of Chinchpokli Foot Over Bridge hanging over the Overhead Equipment (OHE). He promptly informed the concerned authorities, thereby helping prevent a possible accident.
\n(4) Shri Vikash Kumar Das, Fitter-I (C&W), LTT, Mumbai Division, on 05.09.2026, detected a hairline crack inside the head of the CBC coupling during a detailed inspection of Train No. 12101. His timely reporting and prompt action helped avert a potential accident.
\n*Nagpur Division \u2013 2 awardees*
\n(5) Shri Dheeraj Kumar Gupta, Pointsman, Chikni Road, Nagpur Division, on 30.07.2026, noticed that a wall of a house had collapsed onto the track of the third line while performing duty at Station Gate No. 25C (TFC), 16\/24. His immediate intimation to the concerned Station Master helped avert a possible accident.
\n(6) Shri Avinash Kumar, Pointsman, Borkhedi, Nagpur Division, on 03.08.2026, noticed that the wheel flange of the front bogie of the 22nd BLCAB wagon from the locomotive of Train No. JNPT\/42433 had risen above the top of the railhead while checking the load on Line No. 1 at Borkhedi. He immediately informed the Station Manager on duty and the Train Manager, helping avert a potential accident.
\n*Solapur Division \u2013 1 awardee*
\n(7) Shri A. M. Gurav, Loco Pilot (Mail), Solapur, on 10.09.2026, noticed wooden wedges placed on the track at Platform No. 01 of Solapur station while working Train No. 18520. He immediately stopped the train and informed the concerned authorities, following which the wooden wedges were removed from the track, thereby averting a potential accident.
\n* Bhusaval Division \u2013 1 awardee*
\n(8) Shri Kailas Balu Suralkar, Technician-I, Bhusaval Division, on 27.08.2026, detected insulation resistance of Traction Motor (TM-I) in vehicle No. CR 218149 of the Indrayani MEMU rake significantly below the prescribed permissible limit during maintenance on 27.08.2026. His timely reporting helped prevent a major equipment failure.
\n* Pune Division \u2013 1 awardee*
\n(9) Shri Nizam Shaikh Hasan Miya Shaikh, Constable, Daund, Pune Division, displayed exceptional presence of mind at Daund Railway Station on 31.08.2026 at approximately 10:55 hrs. When Train No. 12169 was departing from Platform No. 03, he noticed an elderly passenger slipping and falling while attempting to board the moving train. He immediately pulled the passenger to safety and saved him from harm.<\/p>\n

Shri Anoop Kumar Agarwal , Additional General Manager, Shri Chandra Kishore Prasad, Principal Chief Safety Officer, Other Principal Head of Departments and Senior Officers of Central Railway were present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
