Saharanpur: A horrific road accident took place on the Delhi–Dehradun Highway in the Gagalheri police station area, where a gravel-loaded dumper truck overturned onto a car, resulting in the tragic death of seven people on the spot. The incident has plunged the village into deep grief, and chaos prevails among the family members.

After the accident, angry villagers reached the Syed Majra Toll Plaza and staged a protest, causing a traffic jam on the highway. The villagers alleged that frequent accidents occur due to the high speed and negligence of heavy vehicles on the highway, yet the administration has not taken any effective action.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ashish Tiwari informed that in connection with the incident near Haroda, where an uncontrolled truck overturned onto a car, a case has been registered under relevant sections. The accused have been taken into custody, and necessary legal proceedings are underway. District Magistrate Manish Bansal was also present alongside the SSP. He stated that the traffic jam has been cleared, and movement on the highway is now smooth.

Former Minister Dr. Dharam Singh Saini, MP Imran Masood, Rural MLA Ashu Malik, and MLC Shahnawaz Khan visited the spot and expressed deep condolences to the families. They appealed to the villagers to maintain peace. The untimely death of seven members of the same family has sent a wave of sorrow throughout the region, and a silence has engulfed the village. Police have seized the dumper and initiated further investigation. Action is being taken based on the written complaint.
