Demand for a new footbridge from Yogidham to Shahad Station Road

Citizens request KDMC in light of increasing danger

Kalyan Shrikesh Choubey:

Residents of densely populated areas like Yogidham, Gholap Nagar, Kailash Garden, and Guru Atman in Kalyan West have submitted an urgent memorandum to KDMC City Engineer Mrs. Anita Pardeshi and Commissioner Mr. Abhinav Goyal, requesting the immediate construction of a new footbridge from the Yogidham complex to Shahad Station Road. Local resident Pushpa Prasad Ratnaparkhi emphasized that the population has increased significantly due to the proliferation of buildings in the area, resulting in unbearable traffic on the only existing bridge leading to Shahad. The bridge has become extremely congested and dangerous due to the constant movement of heavy goods vehicles, buses, and private vehicles, while railway passengers, school students, senior citizens, and working class use this unsafe bridge daily to reach Shahad Station on foot. Citizens say that walking on this busy bridge is life-threatening, so it is absolutely necessary to build a new pedestrian bridge near Amrit Dham or the D.Ed. College. This new bridge will not only ensure the safety of residents but will also reduce traffic congestion on the existing large bridge, safely connecting this important part of Kalyan West and Shahad. Citizens have requested the KDMC to seriously consider this urgent demand and implement it on a priority basis.
