Nazareth Hospital Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Prayagraj, नज़रेठ  Hospital, Prayagraj, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour and a deep sense of gratitude for the nation’s freedom. The celebration brought together the hospital administration, doctors, nurses, staff members, students of the Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing and well-wishers.

The programme began with a prayer song presented by the Nursing School Choir, invoking God’s blessings upon the nation and all those who serve it. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Rev. Fr. Chinnappa, Assistant Director, Nazareth Hospital, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and all the participants.

Rev. Fr. Isidore D’Souza, Administrator, Nazareth Hospital, presented a bouquet to the Chief Guest, Shri Ankit Kumar Verma, SDM Sadar, Prayagraj, as a gesture of honour and welcome, following which the choir sang melodiously “Vande Mataram”.

The highlight of the celebration was the flag-hoisting ceremony, performed by the Chief Guest. As the Tricolour unfurled majestically, the gathering stood in respect and pride, commemorating the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and celebrating the ideals of liberty, unity and democracy.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Ankit Kumar Verma spoke on the significance of Independence Day and reminded everyone of their responsibility towards the nation. He appreciated the dedicated service rendered by Nazareth Hospital to the people of Prayagraj and encouraged the healthcare professionals and nursing students to continue serving society with compassion, commitment and integrity. He challenged the audience to introspect and see what they give to the nation.

A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by Rev. Fr. Vipin D’Souza while Dr. Ashok Agrawal gave a token of appreciation and remembrance.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anna Mary, Tutor, Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, hospital authorities, staff and students for their participation and support.

The dignitaries present during the celebration included Matron Rev. Fr. Sr. Mr. Preema, Principal Alveena, Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Dr. R.P. Shukla, Dr. S.B. Singh, Dr. Rinku Chongdar, Dr. Preeti Srivastava and other medical and nursing faculty.
