Preparations in Full Swing for Chaitra Navratri Fair at Shakumbhari Devi Temple

Saharanpur: Preparations for the upcoming Chaitra Navratri fair are in full swing in the area of Shakumbhari Devi Temple. In this regard, Yogi Adityanath visited the Shakumbhari region on Saturday. During the visit, he reached Nagla Mafi village to inspect various ongoing development projects and later offered prayers at the Siddhpeeth Shakumbhari Devi Temple. He also reviewed the progress of tourism development works in the area.
The district administration remained fully alert during the Chief Minister’s visit. Earlier on Friday, Rupesh Kumar, Abhishek Singh, Manish Bansal and Abhinandan Singh visited the Siddhpeeth Shakumbhari Devi Temple to review arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
In view of the Chief Minister’s visit, a temporary helipad was prepared near Nagla Mafi village for helicopter landing. In addition, a special cleanliness drive was conducted along both sides of the road from Nagla Mafi to Bhuradev. Teams of sanitation workers worked continuously to keep the entire route clean so that arrangements remained smooth during the visit.
According to the tourism department, development works worth around ₹75 crore are being carried out in the Siddhpeeth Shakumbhari Devi area. These include the construction of a tourist facilitation center, an open-air theatre, multi-level car parking, toilet blocks, a public souvenir shop, strengthening of the pedestrian pathway, and improved lighting arrangements. These projects were also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
Apart from this, the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation is constructing an elevated bridge and approach road from Bhuradev to the Siddhpeeth. The Chief Minister inspected these projects and reviewed their progress with officials.
During the visit, the Chief Minister also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Chaitra Navratri fair. Discussions were held regarding the administration’s arrangements for the safety of devotees, traffic management, and other public facilities during the fair.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting with officials and public representatives in the Shakumbhari area, where the progress of development works and other schemes was discussed in detail. Later, he visited the Siddhpeeth Shakumbhari Devi Temple and offered prayers to Goddess Bhagwati.
On this occasion, Minister Jaswant Saini, Kunwar Brijesh Singh, MLA Rajeev Gumber, Devendra Nim, Mukesh Chaudhary, Kirat Singh, former MLA Naresh Saini, BJP District President Ajit Singh Rana, BJP Metropolitan President Sheetal Bishnoi, Mayor Dr Ajay Kumar Singh and Zila Panchayat Chairman Mangeram Chaudhary were present along with several other public representatives.
The meeting was also attended by ADG Bhanu Bhaskar, Divisional Commissioner Rupesh Kumar, DIG Abhishek Singh, Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan and officials from various departments.
