**Diva:** Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Party Kalyan Rural Assembly Deputy District Chief Adv. Rohidas Bama Munde has strongly criticized the 11 corporators of the Diva Ward Committee over the increasing encroachment of hawkers in Diva city, the inconvenience caused to citizens and the failure of local people’s representatives to control the affairs of the municipal administration.
An important meeting was held at the Mayor’s Office under the chairmanship of Mayor Sharmilatai Pimpolkar regarding various issues in the Diva department and the problems of citizens. The issue of increasing hawker encroachment in Divya was raised in this meeting. It was said that the mayor has instructed the concerned officials to take immediate concrete action to make Diva city free from hawkers.
However, **To solve the issue of hawkers in Diva, 11 corporators from the ward committee have to come together and meet the mayor and organize a separate meeting, which raises a question mark on the efficiency of local public representatives**, criticized Adv. Rohidas Munde.
Speaking in this regard, Adv. Munde said that the encroachment of hawkers in Diva is not a problem of today, but citizens have been suffering from it for many years. Due to the encroachment of hawkers on roads, footpaths and the routes of citizens, the common citizens have to face many difficulties. In such a situation, if local corporators have to approach the mayor to solve this issue, then the question arises whether they have effective control over the municipal administration at the local level.
Some corporators have been elected two or three times. If they have not yet been able to solve the basic problems of the citizens of Divya and the issue of encroachment by hawkers, what is the use of their public representation? Asking for votes from the citizens during elections and making the same citizens struggle with daily problems after being elected is not right. **Instead of holding repeated meetings to solve the issue of hawkers, it is the responsibility of the corporators to take direct action and provide relief to the citizens**, Adv. Munde also clarified.
The issue of encroachment in Diva city should be addressed immediately and the concerned officials should be held accountable. The municipal administration should not be limited to meetings and assurances but should take direct action. If they fail to solve the basic problems of the citizens despite repeated opportunities, then such corporators should do self-examination and **immediately resign and sit at home**, Adv. Rohidas Munde expressed his strong displeasure in these words.
The citizens of Divya have the right to get encroachment-free roads, open footpaths and safe transport. Therefore, Adv. Rohidas Munde has demanded that the instructions given by the Mayor be implemented immediately and direct action should be taken against the encroachment of hawkers in Divya.
