Deputy Commissioner’s surprise visit exposes Sumit Elco’s work


Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ramdas Kokare is angry over the poor management of waste in Ward 27.

Mumbai shrekesh Choubey:-Dombivli The serious problem of solid waste that has arisen in the Tilaknagar, Patharli, Ambikanagar and Gograswadi areas of Ward No. 27 of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation for the last seven-eight days was inspected today by Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation’s Solid Waste Management Department Dr. Ramdas Kokare during a surprise visit.

The work of waste collection and cleaning in Ward No. 27 has been given to Sumit Elco Company. However, since the company has not been working as expected for the past few days, complaints have been made by local citizens and Bharatiya Janata Party corporators that piles of waste have accumulated in many places. Complaints were also made about the company’s employees not being in uniform, lack of proper planning of employees and lack of clear arrangements regarding which employee should work in which area.

Against this backdrop, the Bharatiya Janata Party corporators of Ward No. 27 requested the Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Department, Dr. Ramdas Kokare, to pay a surprise visit to the ward.

Accepting this request, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kokare inspected the Tilaknagar, Patharli, Ambikanagar and Gograswadi areas of Ward No. 27 for one and a half to two hours from around 9.30 am today.

During the inspection, those present pointed out that there were no employees found at many places doing the work of cleaning and sorting waste. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kokare inspected this situation in person. After that, the relevant employees of Sumit Elco Company were called and discussed with the company manager.

The company has been given a 48-hour ultimatum to improve its operations and necessary instructions have been given to improve waste management in the ward.

Meanwhile, the BJP corporators in ward number 27 demanded from the Municipal Commissioner through Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kokare that earlier the cleaning of the ward was being done properly by the municipal sanitation workers. However, after giving the contract to Sumit Elco Company, complaints of garbage accumulation have increased in many parts of the ward.

The corporators pointed out that citizens are suffering due to the garbage not being collected on time, and this situation is also serious in terms of health. It was also said that in some societies, residents have to be instructed to store their garbage in their homes for some time instead of throwing it out.

Therefore, it was demanded that the contract of Sumit Elco Company in ward number 27 be terminated immediately and the sanitation system should be implemented effectively through the Municipal Corporation as before. It was said that all the BJP corporators of ward number 27 will present this demand in the upcoming general assembly.

During this inspection, BJP corporator Mr. Mahesh Patil, corporator Mrs. Mandatai Patil, education committee chairman and corporator Mr. Abhijit Tharwal, as well as BJP welfare district secretary and ward in-charge Adv. Manoj Prakash Gharat, Sanjay Vichare, Hon. Transportation committee member Mr. Sanjay (Anna) Rane, Yuva Morcha’s Gopal Deshpande, Ganesh Magare and other colleagues and activists were present.

At this time, the serious issue of an unauthorized cowshed in the Gograswadi area was also brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ramdas Kokare.

A large amount of swamp has been created in the area of ​​this unauthorized cowshed due to the cowshed that has accumulated for many years. A few days ago, an incident occurred in which a person got stuck in this place. This issue had been followed up repeatedly before.

The situation was shown to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kokare. Also, the citizens’ grievances were presented to Senior Police Inspector of Tilaknagar Police Station Mr. Raju Pachorkar. After that, it was informed that the necessary police complaint has been filed by the Municipal Corporation against the concerned unauthorized cowshed owner.

It was demanded that the administration should take immediate action on the issues related to cleanliness, health and safety of the citizens in the ward.
